Salem County, NJ Member Uses Sodexo Foundation Grant to Build School Garden

Woodstown, New Jersey, April 10th, 2015 – Annalise VanVranken, a 23 year old FoodCorps Service Member with the Salem County Career and Technical High School from Mays Landing, has been awarded a Sodexo Foundation Youth Grant through YSA (Youth Service America). The grant will support VanVranken in leading a community service project that addresses the issue of childhood hunger.

Global Youth Service Day, April 17-19, 2015, is the largest volunteering and service event in the world. Local service activities will take place on May 1, 2015 from 8:30am-2:00pm at the Salem County Career and Technical High School. Members of the school chapters of FFA and National Technical Honor Society will be joining VanVranken to install an edible school garden that will grow food for students, as well as families in need within our community.
